Our Approach
How EcoBiz delivers value to students and businesses.
Resources and Guidance
EcoBiz provides actionable resources and structured guidance to two audiences: students who want to build sustainable businesses, and businesses that want to integrate sustainability into their operations. We deliver this through three channels.
Newsletter
Our monthly newsletter, Topics of the Month, covers one sustainable business topic in depth each edition. It also includes internship listings, grant opportunities, competition announcements, and youth-led business spotlights. We have published 20 editions to date.
Handbooks
We produce two comprehensive online handbooks designed to be practical, accessible resources:
- Student Handbook: A step-by-step guide for young entrepreneurs on launching and growing a sustainable business. It covers business planning, sustainable sourcing, budgeting with sustainability in mind, and measuring environmental impact.
- Business Handbook: A NYC-focused resource listing local grants, sustainable packaging vendors, energy efficiency programs, and affordable tools that help small businesses adopt greener practices without breaking the budget.
Partnerships
We collaborate with organizations that share our commitment to sustainability. Our current partners include TerraCycle, Art for Earth, and the Youth Publications and Socioeconomic Forum (YPSF).
